Terms and Conditions
All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include the New Zealand Government goods and services tax (GST) of 15%.
All prices are subject to changes in accommodation costs, Goods and Services Tax, Road User Charges and other factors beyond our control.
Design Fee for Tailor Made Tours
A tailor made tour/holiday takes time and expertise to design. A fee of $(NZ)300 is therefore charged for the design and is non-refundable. Should you book a tour with Ability Adventures, then this design fee will be deducted from the cost of the total tour.
Advertised Promotions / Early Bird Specials
In addition to all standard terms and conditions listed here, the following applies to any promotions:
- Offer applies to specified tours only
- Offer is valid for the time period advertised
- Customers must quote or enter the advertised promotional code at the time of making your booking
- Offers are only valid for tours booked directly with Ability Adventures.
- Bookings must be made either by email or by phone
Confirmation and deposit
To confirm your booking a 20% (of tour cost) non-refundable deposit is required. In addition, the costs of pre or instant purchase items such as domestic airfares may be required in advance. This will be clearly displayed on your itinerary. Reservations can be made within 60 days of tour commencement provided full payment is made at the time of booking.
Upon confirming your booking we strongly recommend you take out comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of your holiday to protect you against unforeseen circumstances such as cancellation / interruption charges; medical expenses; loss or damage to luggage, personal property and rental equipment; loss of cash.
Health and Fitness
Payment of your deposit to Ability Adventures (directly or through your travel agent) shall constitute a warranty by you that you (and any other persons covered by your booking) are sufficiently fit and healthy to undertake the relevant tour or other travel arrangements. As part of this warranty, you agree to indemnify Ability Adventures for any actions, claims and demands arising out of any health issues arising on or after the completion of your tour or other travel arrangements.
The balance of payment is due no later than 2 months (60 days) prior to the tour departure.
Tour payments, including all bank charges and transfer fees, can be made by bank draft or directly by telegraphic transfer. Details of our account are available on request.
If the balance is not received within 15 days of the due date we reserve the right to regard the tour as cancelled and levy the appropriate cancellation charges. No reminders will be sent.
After confirmation of a booking any subsequent changes to the tour itinerary will incur a charge of $(NZ)300. This does not apply to additional tours or extensions to your tour.
If for any reason it is necessary to cancel a tour booking the following will apply:

Cancellations are to be notified in writing and will only become effective when the notification is received by Ability Adventures Ltd.
No refunds are available for any unused service, except where an activity is not available due to weather conditions.
At Ability Adventures we take great care to provide a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, however will not be responsible or liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any event(s) which are beyond our control such as (but not limited to) weather disruptions, natural disaster, another operator withdrawing their service for whatever reason . Where and when practical we will assist in making alternative arrangements.
Ability Adventures reserves the right to alter or modify itineraries or accommodation venues in any way that may be necessary in the interests of our clients due to circumstances over which we have no control.
Please ensure you carefully read all the booking information as you receive it, and contact Ability Adventures immediately should any information appear to be incorrect. We will not accept any liability if you fail to notify us of any inaccuracy in any document within 14 days of us sending them to you.
While we will do our best to rectify any changes made outside this time, it is your responsibility to meet any additional costs which may be involved, except in the case of an error made by the Ability Adventures or the Operator, and where there is reasonable justification for you not contacting us within the specified time.
You are responsible for ensuring that all necessary travel documents including, but not limited to, passports, visas and vaccination certificates are valid. We strongly recommend that you verify current documentation requirements and all other relevant protocols and procedures associated with your trip with your travel consultant. Please note requirements change and you must check with your Consulate for the most up to date information.
Passports must have an expiry date of at least 3 months beyond the date you intend to depart NZ.
Personal Care and Mobility Equipment Rentals
All mobility and personal care equipment hired will be returned in the same condition as when received. As the renter you take full responsibility for the correct use of rental equipment, its care, security and any costs arising out of damage or loss. Ability Adventures Ltd shall not be liable or responsible for the loss of, or damage to any such equipment.
Self Drive Tours
Car rental with Ability Adventures is limited to the payment of and securing of the rental portion and or other inclusions such as collision damage waiver fees of the rental car hire. All other insurance costs (unless specified otherwise on your tour inclusions) are to be settled directly with the car rental supplier. Any other costs incurred by the renter are the sole responsibility of the renter. A full set of terms and conditions for car rental is available on request and will be detailed in your confirmed itinerary or quote.
Statutory Protection Under New Zealand Law
These terms and conditions should be read subject to and in conjunction with the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act and the Fair Trading Act (applicable in New Zealand) and do not affect your rights as expressed in these Acts.
You may browse and access information contained within this website without providing any personal information.
Where you voluntarily provide personal information, we will only use that information to communicate with you regarding Ability Adventures business.
